About
Senior product development, without the agency layer
Rabbits Foot is me: Richard White. A developer you can talk to directly, who can take a product from an idea through architecture, build, launch and production support.

I have more than 20 years of commercial software development behind me. The through-line is not a job title — it is shipping systems that have to keep working: e-commerce platforms, booking products, operational tools, high-traffic consumer sites, and now a set of my own products.
I build complete products rather than isolated interfaces. That means frontend, backend, mobile, infrastructure and the unglamorous work of getting something into production and keeping it there. Architecture is part of the job, not a separate consultant’s report.
AI is part of how I work now, not a slogan. I use ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor every day for planning, research, implementation, refactoring, tests and documentation — and I put the same class of tools into products where they earn their place, as in Stackr’s educational recommendation flow.
Clients work with me directly. There is no account manager, no bench, and no translation layer between the conversation and the codebase.
How I tend to work
Available for project work, longer product-development engagements, and contract software-development roles.
Product, not just tickets
I start from the problem, the users and the smallest version that is worth launching. Code follows from that, not the other way around.
Web and mobile
Most of the recent product work is TypeScript, React, Next.js, React Native, Laravel and PHP — APIs, auth, payments, data and the production environment they run in.
London, UK and remote
Rabbits Foot is based in London and works with clients across the UK and remotely.
Selected background
A condensed view of the work that shaped how I build products. The full chronology is less useful here than the range: startups, agencies, retail, venues and public-sector systems, from 2006 through to products I own today.

Have a product to build?Let’s talk.
An outline of the problem is enough. I’ll tell you whether it’s a good fit, and what a sensible first slice of the product looks like.
